Massage Therapy

Why would you choose a massage holistic treatment? Because it works!

Holistic Massage is a modern way to describe a form of primary health care that has stood the test of time. It was practiced successfully in ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt over 3,000 years ago, and has flourished in Europe and in the U.S. since the mid-1900's.

How can massage help you?

You are treated “holistically”, meaning that all your body systems are viewed as pieces of a whole and taken into consideration during the procedure.

The goal of the treatment is to alleviate your immediate symptoms and restore balance and equilibrium to your whole body to allow your general good health and well-being to return.

Massage therapists receive unique training in order to treat you this way. Because of the depth and scope of their knowledge, they are licensed as Massage Therapists.

Holistic Massage can also be used as complementary therapy to conventional medical treatments.

Massage can help you build your strength and speed your healing process. Massage triggers a psychological response as well through its warm and soothing analgesic effect.

How Does It Work?

Massage employs therapy that uses specific pressure points on your body. These points are grouped along defined pathways that travel throughout your body. When your internal energy flows smoothly and freely through these pathways you health is maintained. When that flow is excessive, deficient or blocked, your health is disrupted and you feel pain. By stimulating these points the energy becomes regulated again and your health is restored.

The massage therapist uses hand and finger pressure to soothe muscles and improve blood and lymph circulation.

The beneficial effects of Massage include:
  - Decrease of muscle spasm.
  - Preventing formation of adhesions, scar tissue and reduction of danger of fibrosis.
  - Improvement of muscle tone, stretching of connective tissue and help in delaying muscular atrophy.
  - Relaxation and relief from tension and stress.
  - Dilation of blood vessels, improvement in circulation and relief from congestion throughout the body.
  - Increase in number of red blood cells, especially in case of anemia.
  - Help in returning venous blood to the heart.
